History:

USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) is a Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier of the United States Navy. Named after Congressman Carl Vinson, a key advocate for U.S. naval power, she was launched in 1980 and commissioned in 1982. As the third Nimitz-class carrier, she represents a cornerstone of American naval strength.

Equipped with two nuclear reactors, USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) can operate for over 20 years without refueling and supports a full air wing of over 60 aircraft, including F/A-18 fighters and E-2C Hawkeyes. She has participated in numerous operations, including the Gulf War, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, and humanitarian missions such as the 2010 Haiti earthquake relief.
